Dear authors and readers of JSEE,
It has been a great honor to serve as Editor of the ASME Journal of Solar Energy Engineering for the last 5 years. The Journal has seen a steady expansion in the number of high quality scientific and technical papers published. I hereby acknowledge the contributions by the authors and by the many reviewers who have voluntarily devoted their time to the peer-reviewing process. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Editorial Board, the Guest Editors of topical issues, the Solar Energy Division Executive Committee, and the ASME Publishing staff, whose collective efforts were critical to the successful operation of the Journal. In particular, I thank my Editorial Assistant, Ms. Judy Michel, for the efficient administration of the twenty issues containing 365 papers published during my term.
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Gilles Flamant will assume the position of Editor on January 1, 2010. Dr. Flamant is the Director of the Processes, Materials and Solar Energy Laboratory of CNRS in Odeillo, France. He is one of the leading scholars in the solar energy research community. He has served as Associate Editor in the area of Solar Chemistry and Bioconversion for the past five years and has authored over 180 refereed articles. I am leaving the Journal in good hands.
