According to a survey conducted by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, endoscopists spend 43% of their time performing procedures. Another study of 400 endoscopists revealed that 85% suffered musculoskeletal pain related to repetitive use and fatigue, possibly leading to decreased productivity and eventual premature retirement [2].
