The results of recent research into ultra high-speed milling production will revolutionize machine tool design concepts and associated technical-economic study parameters. Testing demonstrated major improvements in productivity, part stability, and process selection. Several specific production problems are analyzed to emphasize changes in design and manufacturing concepts. A forecast of process limitation is given which reflects the strength of machine tool materials as the only constraint to future mechanical design improvements.
