Experiments were conducted in short wide-angle diffusers. The control surface was made of slots and a plenum chamber underneath and on both diverging walls of the diffusers. The experiments included slots normal to the surface and a combination of slots normal and inclined to the surface. Passive control with inclined slots produced modest improvement in pressure recovery but significant increases in the stall angle. [S0098-2202(00)01501-7]
