In this paper, we address the problem of identification and control of a small-scaled unmanned helicopter system, which consisted of flight control system (FCS) and ground control system (GCS). In order to perform automatic flight, we did system identification experiments to model the dynamic characteristics of the helicopter. Low-order models of roll, pitch and yaw channel are identified. The identified models are proved can provide a good match of helicopter dynamic characteristics for flight control research.
