The physical and transport properties of natural and anthropogenic CO2 are important in the hydraulic process calculations in order to provide accurate material and energy balances, heat transfer, mass transfer, and pressure loss calculations . They are also important in addressing design issues (such as fracture control properties of material, refer to Chapter 7). Therefore, in order to design, operate, and maintain a CO2 pipeline or pipeline network, these properties need to be considered and understood.
