The Stresses in Infinite Wedges Linearly Tapered in Width and Thickness

The solutions are given for some plane stress problems of an infinite wedge linearly tapered in width and thickness, the corresponding solutions for the constant thickness cases being well known. The loadings chosen for illustrative purposes are: (a) concentrated load at end, (b) concentrated couple at end, and (c) uniform normal pressure on one face.
