The edge-to-edge repair (ETER) is one of the mitral valve (MV) repair techniques frequently used in MV disease treatment. This technique restores valve competence by the suturing of the free edges of the leaflets either in the central position or at the commissure, depending on the location of valvular lesions. A direct consequence of this procedure is the modification in both shape and geometry of the MV orifices and thus of the fluid mechanics downstream of the MV during diastole [1].
