Abstract
The methodology used in the analysis of the flow-field of non-colloidal suspensions in a rotating system, accompanied by separation under the action of a centrifugal or gravitational field, is discussed. Some results for centrifugal separation and rotating particle-driven gravity currents are reviewed, and some new challenging questions that appear in the context of these problems are pointed out.
