Abstract
The diagnosis and quantification of valvular regurgitation in patients is important in clinical decision making. The purpose of this study is to define precise and practical methods to predict regurgitant flow through a defective porcine bioprosthetic valve by non-invasive ultrasound based modalities. The investigation combines studies of the velocity flowfield by Doppler Ultrasound as well as the regurgitant orifice morphology by 3-D echocardiography.
