Abstract

This paper presents an approach for active vibration control in which translational vibration and rotational vibration can be controlled jointly or separately. By doing so, the flexibility of either partially isolating or totally isolating the vibration is achieved; this flexibility can be useful in a variety of engineering applications. A generic two degree-of-freedom vibration system is analyzed and modelled as a multivariable system. The control (isolation) approach is based on multivariable feedback decoupling design. The design scheme and simulation results are presented.
